One-Minute Quick Dry Nail Tip

November 11th, 2010

I have beautiful…and I mean lovely…nail polishes in my chic three-tiered purple plastic Caboodles case (a Christmas gift from my little sister when I was 15…practically an antique). Every week or so, I drag it out from underneath my bed and shake them to revitalize the brilliant colors. I stare at them in wonder, promising the bright reds and dark purples I’m going to wear them soon. I shake them one more time. I put them back. I slide them back under the bed, sighing. I’m a big fat liar.

Why can’t I just paint my damn nails? What. Is. Wrong. With. Me.

I’ll tell you what the problem is…I paint, I smudge, I wipe, I paint, I smudge…you get it. I have the patience of a four-year-old brat. I also look like a four-year-old painted my nails.

So here’s a quick dry nail tip that I recently learned that I love…

To set nail polish, after 1 minute of air drying, slip your nails carefully into a bowl of ice water for 30 seconds.

With this tip in mind, I will stop lying to my nail polish. Actually, I should probably just stop talking to my cosmetics. That would really be best.

Wow! Never heard that one before but will try it. I’m terrible too. Fortunately, there are nail salons everywhere that’ll paint em for $10!
