I’m so happy to have a fantastic guest post today by Boston Stylist Sarah McManus. Show her some love…follow her@BostonStylista for great fashion tips.

Every season, we should add some staples to our wardrobe. It’s a way of updating and keeping up with trends without spending too much. This season is all about mixing comfort with style and there are five must have items at the top of the list. Let’s start!

Rachel Zoe

The Faux Fur Vest

This is a trend loved by all. Seen on celebrities and city folk alike, it’s a staple now for any woman’s closet. Not only is faux fur a great, warm daytime piece, but add some¬† jewels and a skirt for instant evening glamour.

Theory Skinny Black Pant

These are the perfect skinny black pants, and the material is so luxuriously soft! They’re almost like leggings but have back and front pockets, so they look classy and slim on all body types. Perfect for pairing with pumps or tucking into booties, these pants go with any top and coat.

Nars Orgasm Blush

There’s a reason this blush makes every “best beauty” award year after year. This sheer pink hue looks amazing on everyone and instantly brightens up the face for that afternoon delight glow. Try just a hint on the apples of the cheek.

Chinese Laundry

A Fabulous Pair of Boots

Every woman needs a great pair of boots to feel sexy and confident! There are so many styles out there today from shooties to over-the-knee, find a style that flatters you. Always go with a heel you’re comfortable walking in and a pair that goes with most of your wardrobe. These are a fall-to-winter staple and look great with a dress, leggings, and a sweater! Here are a couple styles that I love: Chinese Laundry Ankle Boots (seen above) and Banana Republic Clog Boots

Zara Skirt

A Flattering Black Skirt

Again, with basics, we’re starting to see many different variations of a classic. In this case, the black skirt. Most women look great in an A-line pencil skirts. Flattering with a blouse tucked in or under a blazer, this look is always sharp. For a shorter style,¬† I love high wasted skirts with pockets. They are so cute and versatile to wear with ankle boots or knee length height. It’s also another great day-to-night piece by just adding a few more accessories such as a long beaded necklace or bangles.

Enjoy my picks and happy hunting!
