This season’s trends put some serious spring in my step. What do you think, my fabulous ladies? Are you ready for some femininity, crazy patterns and even an LWD?
Orange you Glad?
Vibrant citrus hues are big for spring, and when I saw orange on the runway, I shrieked with delight (oh yay!). Then I saw coral, and I shrieked with fear (not a fan). That’s OK. You wear your brights. I’ll wear mine. Either way, keep it to a pop of one. Too many and you’re a dish of spumoni.
A Bouquet of Beauty
April showers bring May flowers, so why not let them invade your closet? I just adore when fashion lets me live out my floral fantasies. Keep the shoes extra simple, maybe a nice taupe espadrille or kicky wedge.
Ring that Bell
From silk jumpsuits to…yes…I’m going to go ahead and say it BELL BOTTOMS…the ‘70s were all over the runways. Think Kate Hudson a la Almost Famous. After a year of skinny jeans, it was bound to happen. Wear those (hold breath) bell bottoms (exhale) with wedge heels and a tucked-in top to look long and lean. Groovy, baby.
Nurses, this one’s for you. All white. It’s the new black for Spring 2011. The minimal chic look simplifies the palette for serious sophistication. But promise me…for the love of all that is good and fashionable…do not let this translate to foot wear. Do a pop of color on the shoes, with red, navy or even a bright citrus. Note: For you MILFs, be sure to take along the Tide To-Go Stick when rocking this trend…it’s not the most mama-friendly.
Crazy For Prints
From controlled African tribal to cray cray epileptic-fit inducing whirly swirls, bold prints reign supreme. Mixing and matching is the key to eclectics looks, but stick to one or two colors (or a few in the same family) so you yourself don’t look too damn crazy.
Let it Flow
Romance. Romance. Romance. Think feminine peasant blouses, loose easy breasy peasy shapes, billowy blouses and swingy dresses. Wispy and light, this trend takes you from frumpy to feminine in an instant.
