I have three holiday parties to go to this week. Three. That means three show-stopping dresses (a one-shoulder Lanvin/H&M, a red/black/white ’50s inspired from White House Black Market, and a little one-shoulder animal print Calvin Klein number). And it also means three painful lovely pairs of high heels.
Yesterday, I hit Rite-Aid. No, not for drugs to help with the upcoming pain. To buy these new cheap little black squish-in-your-bag Dr. Scholl’s Fast Flats. I actually bought two pair—one for my purse and one for inside the car glove box. I’ve been doing this for years, bending flats into origami shapes to fit them into my party purses. But these actually are meant to fold. They come in a cheesy gold “wristlet”—just toss that little bag in the closet and toss the slipper-comfy, go-with-everything flats into your tiny clutch.
Now I have something to change into this holiday season that means neither my feet nor my shoes will get ruined on the walk to and fro galas. If only I could squish my UGGS into my purse when it’s snowing. That would be fantastic. Get to work on that, wouldja?
