I’m having a love affair. I don’t exactly keep it a secret. My husband knows about it. But he’s having one of his own. Sometimes we both spend time with our love interests, while he and I are just feet from each other on the couch.

That’s right. We both have IPhones. Smartphones, if you will. Although I’m not sure how smart mine is. It always changes words like “their” to “thrip” and “again” to “stasi” when I come close to misspelling them. Not sure what thrip or stasi mean, so come to think of it…it might just be a smart phone. Smarter than me anyway.

Here’s an article I found about how some say that Smart Phones will run our lives someday. By 2015, smartphone ownership will surpass 80% in the U.S., up from 17% of the population today, research firms Frost & Sullivan and Forrester Research estimate. If it’ll do my laundry and keep track of my work deadline calendar for me, I’m all for it.

Today, one in five Americans owns a smartphone — but give it just a few more years and the gadgets will be ubiquitous.By 2015, smartphone ownership will surpass 80% in the U.S., up from 17% of the population today, research firms Frost & Sullivan and Forrester Research estimate.     In the future I want my left palm replaced with an iPhone – it would save me from having to keep the thing in my pocket. Whatever the device is called, we will now and always have some device as part of our daily lives. Creepy.
