Why Don’t You Peel Away

April 29th, 2010

Update: Sula is introducing duo wands in August 2010, with color on one side, top coat on the other. Still peels with careless abandon, and fits perfectly in your purse for quick-change color.

Anybody know how to get my daughter to stop picking at her nails? Seriously. It’s annoying.

We all know how much biting nails drives me insane. But this picking deal she’s doing all…day…long might push me over the edge. Half the time, she doesn’t even know it. Well, we’re changing that.

I found the greatest thing to make sure that she can see when she’s been picking. Sula Paint-and-Peel Nail Polish. It’s peelable (hence, the name). I know what you’re thinking. Won’t she mess it up? Yes, my friend. That’s the point. She peels. She’ll know. Hopefully she’ll stop.

Great thing about this polish is that it’s a non-toxic water-based formula, free of formaldehyde, toluene and phthalate. So it doesn’t stink and is great for kids. It comes in perfect pinks, cute corals and watermelon shades (there’s even a lavender purple they call “mauve”…not sure why…it’s not mauve, it’s purple). Want to use it too? Put it on with the Permanent Top and Base Coat and it lasts like regular polish.

Now, I’m not for dressing up my three-year-old in makeup and heels. Not yet. She’s not Suri Cruise.  But I don’t see anything wrong with a little fun mommy-daughter time that might involve nail polish for pretty fingertips and toes. And I really love it when she tries to get daddy involved. Next time you see my husband, ask him to take off his shoes. Go ahead. I dare you.
